From farm to package
The farms we work with select premium cacao varieties to plant and propagate. After the cacao pods are harvested, the cacao beans are fully fermented by professionals trained in this vital step. Once the beans have undergone their transformation, they are sun-dried and sent to us for packaging.

MOTHER EARTH CACAO is sourced from 100% Mayan owned collectives of indigenous mothers who artisanally produce our Cacao products.
The cacao beans are roasted, hand-peeled and ground by this wonderful team before then being moulded into our smooth blocks of rich Cacao paste.

Our native ‘criollo’ cacao beans are
sourced directly from our farmers in a remote mountainous region called Suchitepéquez; a highland region in Southwestern Guatemala.
Here our cacao is organically grown, harvested, fermented and dried before being transported to the small Kaqchikel village of San Marcos La Laguna on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
Signifying life and fertility, it’s thought that Cacao was first used as a health elixir and ceremonial medicine as far back as 1900 BC by the ancestors of Central America; the Olmec people, before becoming a ritualistic medicine used by the Aztec and Mayan cultures.
Theobroma Cacao is rich in magnesium, potassium, iron, and theobromine. This superfood provides the body with nutrients, antioxidants and also the neurotransmitters serotonin, tryptophan and dopamine, which help to feel good, combat stress and harness renewed motivation.
